Hello.
I am Park Jae-hyun, the 33rd dean of the Inha University College of Engineering.
Our College of Engineering was established in 1954 as an engineering college with 6 departments, and has now grown to 18 departments, and will celebrate its 70th anniversary next year. For the past 70 years, our College of Engineering has contributed to helping Korea stand shoulder to shoulder with advanced countries by producing numerous engineering talents who have contributed to Korea's industrial development and economic growth.
However, our College of Engineering is currently facing many challenges due to changes in the economic environment and changes in industry requirements. One of the current challenges facing higher education is the inability to provide education that meets the needs of industry and society. In order to overcome the crisis of university education, especially engineering education, we believe that it is necessary to actively introduce new education methods in consideration of future industrial demands and provide systematic education for students to acquire the skills and skills needed in the industrial field.
To this end, faculty should practice student-centered education by guiding students to develop problem-solving skills and helping students acquire the necessary skills in the industrial field by collaborating with industries. In addition, by introducing an innovative education system suitable for the future era, students should be able to grow into creative future-oriented talents through active self-learning.
In addition, interdisciplinary convergence education is one of the important strategies to overcome the problems faced by university education. Through this, you can discover new ideas and technologies by sharing expertise and experiences in various academic fields. This will be of great help in strengthening the university's research capacity, creating knowledge and achieving innovation.
Through this transformation, we will work together to take over the legacy of engineering colleges achieved by proud seniors over the past 70 years and make a leap forward to prestigious engineering schools that produce the best students in the new 70 years.
thank you
